Jennifer Hudson Murder Trial William Balfour Found Guillty

May 11th, 2012 | By admin

William Balfour has been found GUILTY of murdering three members of Jennifer Hudson’s family.

The verdict was handed down moments ago after two days of deliberations.

Balfour was convicted of 1st degree murder in the deaths of Jennifer’s mom Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson, and nephew Julian King. Balfour was also convicted of home invasion and residential burglary.

Jennifer Hudson was present in court when the verdict was read.

31-year-old Balfour stands convicted of the triple murder after allegedly flying into a blind and jealous rage in 2008 — over a balloon gift for Julia Hudson, Balfour’s ex and Jennifer’s sister.

Prosecutors say Balfour thought the gift was from Julia’s new boyfriend and he snapped.

He faces life in prison.

Lil Boosie Found Not Guilty in Murder Case

Lil Boosie Found NOT GUILTY of Murder

Rapper Lil’ Boosie has been found not guilty of first degree murder … stemming from the shooting death of a 35-year-old man back in 2009.

Boosie was accused of ordering a hit on the victim … but after the jury deliberated for roughly 90 minutes, they decided Boosie was not guilty.

Boosie — who was tried in Baton Rouge, LA — could have faced life in prison if convicted.

During the case, prosecutors tried to argue that lyrics in one of Boosie’s raps proved his role in the murder …. but clearly, the jury didn’t buy the argument.

Still, Boosie will not be a free man anytime soon — he’s currently serving an 8-year prison sentence stemming from drug charges.

Meek Mill Signs To Roc Nation

Meek Mill Signs To Roc Nation

The Roc Nation team gets even stronger with signing MMG super star Meek Mill. The Philly mc broke records with 2 million downloads in one day with his Dreamchasers 2 Mixtape.

L+T: So you’re signed to Roc Nation management…
MM: Yeah, that’s the new deal I put together. Me coming up in this rap game, I was always an underground artist coming up by myself and making all of the moves by myself. And my manager – he’s just like me, we’ve been coming up in the streets by ourselves. So we just decided to partner up with Roc Nation and take things to another level.

L+T: Now that you’re aligned with two of the most important organizations in hip-hop, how do you feel that’s going to define your career?
MM: I think it’s going to take me to the next level. I’ve got Warner Bros. behind me, Maybach Music Group, and Roc Nation; some of the most powerful people in the game. That’s like 80 percent of the game right there. You know, Ca$h Money, they like family. So it’s like you’ve got everyone on your team at one time, and it feels good to have all that behind you at once. It’s like a force that can’t be stopped.

Dame Dash’s Rolls Royce Ghost Hit By A Taxi On His Birthday!

May 8th, 2012 | By @HYPEMANCOOPSDM

Well this sucks! I’m sure if he has a Ghost though, he has some fabulous insurance. Either way, what a way to put a damper on your birthday festivities! Dame was headed to XVI lounge when, “An errant taxi driver side-swiped his Rolls-Royce,” NY Post reports. More details below.

Fellow passenger, nightlife guru Noel Ashman, tells us Dash groused, “Oh, man. It’s my birthday.” Ashman continued, “Dash was remarkably calm — I would have been livid.” Dash eventually made it to his party that drew guests including Erin Fetherstone, Jim Jones, Cam’ron, Citizen Cope, Gus Johnson, Sweet Tee and former Black Panther Jamal Joseph. Dash’s son was the DJ, even playing Jay-Z songs, proving there was no bad blood between the two moguls.

Andre 3000 To Play Jimi Hendrix In New Biopic

May 7th, 2012 | By admin

Andre 3000

Andre 3000 has reportedly resurfaced as the lead in an upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic. The film has been in the works for years with the reclusive rapper named as the star, but the project has run into problems and was reportedly stalled indefinitely.
Nonetheless, it looks like the film now has the green light again and details have emerged about the project’s plot and title.
Called All Is By My Side, the film focuses on the legendary guitarists’ life just as he was becoming a star in England after transplanting there to pursue a recording career, having failed to land a deal in America. The film is being written and directed by John Ridley.
The film will shoot in Ireland this summer.

Jay-Z Tells Oprah He’ll Probably Have The Worst, Spoiled Child Ever

May 6th, 2012 | By @HYPEMANCOOPSDM

Jay-Z sat down with Oprah for an upcoming Master of Class: Special Edition episode, which airs tonight at 10pm, and spoke about baby Blue. Jay said that he knows that he’s going to spoil his little girl and although Jay and Bey are probably two of the coolest parents ever (in my opinion) Jay knows that at some point Blue will probably hate him. See what else he said below.

Blue Ivy Carter is going to grow to be one lucky lady. Not only was she born to power couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z, but if her dad, 42, has his way, she’s going to get whatever she wants.

“I imagine I’ll take things I learned from my mom and things I’ve learned from raising my nephews and apply that,” the rapper says in a clip from Oprah’s Master Class: Special Edition, which airs Sunday on OWN at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“Then at the end of the day, I just know I’ll probably have the worst, spoiled little kid ever.”
But the new father is well aware that even spoiled children have moments when they come to resent their parents.

Getting bashful for a moment, he chuckles and says, “Everyone imagines they’ll be a great dad until their [kids are] teenagers. [They say], ‘Get away from me, Dad. You’re embarrassing me.’ “

NBA: Crazy! NY Post Columnist Makes Racist Comments Towards Jay-Z & Nets, Says They Should Be Called ‘New York N—–s’

May 4th, 2012 | By @HYPEMANCOOPSDM

C’mon really? Damn. People REALLY need to stop with this racist sh*t! It’s just ignorant!!! This guy might want to hide out for a minute…

New York Post columnist Phil Mushnick is the center of controversy once again after a column that appeared in the publication Friday.

In his “Equal Time” column, Mushnick blasts the Brooklyn Nets for their continued association with rapper and minority owner Jay-Z. The passage is below:

“As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots—what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new “urban” home—why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment? Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N——s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B—-hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath.
Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!”

Jack Kogod (@Unsilent) posted on Twitter: “Looking forward to not reading Phil Mushnick’s independent blog.”

Sports Illustrated’s Andy Glockner (@AndyGlockner) writes: “This Phil Mushnick take on Nets/Jay-Z is remarkably ignorant.”

Ryan Jones (@TheFarmerJones) added some perspective about the source: “The thing about the Phil Mushnick column: It’s a Phil Mushnick column in The Post. He probably got a bonus.”

Everyone from SB Nation columnist Bomani Jones to Questlove of The Roots took to social media to blast the racially insensitive comments. Mushnick is no stranger to taking aim at rappers in his work, but his latest comments crossed a new line.

When the logo was revealed, Nets CEO Brett Yormark called the Jay-Z-designed logo “the new badge for Brooklyn.”
