The rumor mill was been turning like crazy this week about the marital status of celeb couple Russell Brand and Katy Perry. However, today Russell Brand confirmed that the two are separating. TMZ was able to get their hands on documents filed in L.A. citing that Brand was divorcing Perry due to “irreconcilable differences.”
Russell Brand has filed for divorce from Katy Perry. In the docs filed in L.A., Brand cites “irreconcilable differences.” The two were married Oct. 23, 2010 in India. They have no kids.
The divorce docs say there are “community property assets” — it’s a sign there might not be a prenup, or if there is one it doesn’t cover all of the earnings and other assets they accumulated.
The docs do not give a date the couple separated.
Russell has released a statement, claiming, “Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”
Russell proposed to Katy in India on New Year’s Eve 2009 — nearly two years ago … to the day.
Sources had told TMZ the couple was having problems, evidenced by the fact that they spent Christmas apart and neither was wearing a wedding ring.
Although it’s not 100%, based on what we now know it appears Brand may have blindsided Perry by filing the divorce petition.
Russell appeared on “Ellen” just this month, slamming divorce rumors — claiming, “I’m really happily married … I’m married to Katy. Perpetually, until death do us part was the pledge. I’m still alive.
Master P’s brother C-Murder (P hasn’t spoke to C in years, by the way) was sentenced to life 2 years ago for killing a 16-year-old fan at a Louisiana club in 2002. He’d made an appeal earlier this year, saying he’d been denied a fair trial but yesterday, a three-judge appeals court panel upheld the conviction and his life sentence. Nice try guy!

Police are investigating the reported theft of four guns worth $1,700 from a truck owned by Carolina Panthers backup linebacker Kion Wilson.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg says in a report that Wilson reported robbers broke into his F250 truck. He says they stole a FN 57 handgun, a Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun, a Glock 23, and a Smith and Wesson Body Guard 380.
Wilson says he discovered the break-in while driving after stopping at store parking lot near Northlake Mall on Monday.
Police say the door lock on the truck was also damaged.
Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Sgt. Brian Foley says police are checking out surveillance camera footage but have no suspects. He wouldn’t say if the firearms are registered to Wilson, citing the privacy of the investigation.
